Last thursday was the 3 year anniversary of being in New York,
and it’s truly been one hell of a ride. I came down with only a backpack and a sleeping bag, my best friend at my side, arriving in a park in lower Manhattan full of dreams and ideas to change the world. It was a rough fall and winter but I made it through and met some of the most amazing people I ever have. I’m enamored with appreciation for the people who have touched my life since I arrived. You’ve been great confidants, friend, lovers, partners and a true chosen family. You’ve introduced me to whole new ways of thinking, taught me how to be an adult (kind of, i’m still not convinced I am one), how to be assertive, express my queerness and my desires, love my body, communicate with intention, work towards my goals, given me a shoulder to cry on when it’s been rough and pushed me when I needed it most. I’ve grown so much because of all of you.
Most of all you’ve helped me keep my head above ground in this city where it can be an almost constant battle to keep your spirits high.
Thank you so much, I love you all and I can’t wait to see what the next years hold in store for me!
